Services

I work in partnership with two other mental health professionals, End of Life Doulas and Patient Choices Vermont Affiliated Wayfinders: Licia Berry-Berard, LICSW and Brigid Guttmacher, M.A., L.P.C. as a part of the Compassionate Choice Alliance.

As a team, we serve clients who wish to access their right to Act 39, Vermont's Medical Aid in Dying legislation. We offer a calm, steady, experienced presence to individuals and their loved ones. We help people navigate the logistical, emotional, and relational aspects of accessing Medical Aid in Dying in Vermont with clarity, compassion, and respect so that care aligns with each person’s wishes.

The process to access Medical Aid in Dying in Vermont can be complex. We provide guidance and support with:

  • Understanding the law and eligibility requirements

  • Finding Vermont-licensed physicians and caregivers

  • Organizing appointments and medical documentation

  • Coordinating hospice enrollment and transferring care (for out-of-state clients)

  • Planning for travel, lodging, and ingestion day

  • Working with pharmacists to obtain medication

  • Full presence, coordination and support on the ingestion day

  • Arranging for after-death care

  • Providing emotional and practical support throughout the process.

Our goal is to make the journey less difficult by helping guide clients and their families through the logistical barriers as well as providing emotional support throughout the entire process.
